1896, $5 Silver Certificate. . Fr-268. . KL-238. PMG graded Choice Uncirculated 64, Exceptional Paper Quality A real charmer, and consdered to be America's most beautiful paper money series. This note has for its allegorical scheme Electricity as a central force in nature and commerce. The paper is very bright and crisp, while the colors are exceptional as well. The note carries the signature combination of Tillman and Morgan and would look nice decorating a high-quality collection of large size currency. The Educational $5 lasted for four short years (1896-99) before it was replace by the next series (the Indian Chief design).
