This variety is one of the Morgan Van Allen-Mallis varieties recognized and priced in the Red Book, easily making the journey over into mainstream collections. If you examine the last digit of the date, a 7, the remnants of a 6 can be seen to the lower right. Pop 220; 87 finer, 1 in 64 star, 80 in 65, 1 in 65 star, 5 in 66 (PCGS # 7174) .
