Lot 2283

1855-C $1 Gold Indian. NCS graded Details of EF-40. Reverse damage. Some light clash marks as made. A notoriously poor strike. This example has a nice clear date and mint mark. Best of all, it is one of a scant 9,803 pieces made at the Charlotte Mint that year, the only time Charlotte struck gold dollars featuring the Type 2 small Indian Princess head (1854-56) (PCGS # 7533) .
Estimated Value $1,500 - 1,750.

Realized $1,840
