USA 1833 Dragoon Officer's Saber. Overall length of 39.5 inches with a gilt or brass wire wrapped brown leather grip, this in very good condition. Pommel, backstrap and knuckle guard in brass, the quillon knob marked "J.M". On the ricasso in engraved script some remnants of the maker name N.P. Ames Cutler, Springfield, Mass. Likewise very faint remains of an engraved design on the blade, this worn down from use and cleaning. The blade with fine light pitting overall, otherwise good condition or better as noted.
