Lot 799

Great Britain. Laurel (20 Shillings), ND. S.2638C; Fr-242. James I, 1603-1625. Third coinage (1619-25). Mint mark, Lis. Laureate armored bust left, value behind. Reverse Long cross over square shield. A well struck coin, unusually well centered. So unusually sharply struck is the portrait that one could conclude that the coin is a piece of finer workmanship or a 'presentation piece'. An irreplaceable rarity. NGC graded MS-63.
Estimated Value $3,500 - 4,000.
The Dr. Robert Hesselgesser Collection.

Realized $9,200
