1854 $3 Gold. PCGS graded AU-58. Well struck and a hint of light golden color. A nice frosty coin whose luster glistens within the main devices and spreads outward into the field on both sides. As the first year of issue, the 1854 date also is noteworthy in having small letter in DOLLARS. A larger letter set of punches was used on dates from 1855-89 (PCGS # 7969) .
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,200.
Ex: The Brentwood Park Estate.
