Lot 2922

1874-CC Trade Dollar. NGC graded MS-62. Lovely frosty surfaces which are lightly toned. An attractively lustrous CC-mint example with residual cartwheels beneath the satin luster. Turning next to a key area in the grading scheme, especially for the elusive Carson Mint dates, this is a nicely struck example exhibiting fine detail to all the high points: Liberty's dress, the stars, the other obverse ornamentation, and on the reverse, almost 100% detail on the eagle (only the edge of one wing shows any rounding, and it is minor). Most of the toning occurs on the reverse. All of the luster is fresh, original, and as we said, very attractive (PCGS # 7035) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,500.

Realized $4,830
