1867 Shield Nickel. Rays. PCGS graded MS-64. Unevenly struck at the rims (the rays on the reverse caused the dies to deteriorate rapidly, which is why the mint removed them in mid-1867). Smooth luster finish; lightly toned. Pop 128; 28 finer; 24 in 65; 3 in 66; 1 in 67 (PCGS # 3791) .
