Lot 2453

1914-D Lincoln Cent. PCGS graded MS-64 Red & Brown. Well struck with fading sunset red mint color. We note a minute fly-speck before Lincoln's nose, and a small mark on the jaw line, mentioned mainly for identification purposes. A deep coppery red specimen for the most part with traces of brown to steel brown in the fields. A satiny MS64 with a lock on its grade, and among the more attractive we have been pleased to off. Here, too, we are struck by the nice, convincing design detail for all areas of this important Denver Mint cent with not even the slightest amount of flatness on Lincoln's hair, nor the least weakening in the two wheat ears (PCGS # 2472) .
Estimated Value $4,500 - 5,000.
