Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III, the Great, AR Tetradrachm (17.23 g), "Amphipolis" mint, c. 336-323 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Reverse: Zeus enthroned left, holding eagle; rooster in field to left. Price 79a; Muller 392. Nicely centered and boldly struck. Reverse fields showing some likely die rust, not affecting the devices. The coin remains sharp and highly lustrous. A lifetime issue, and a truly choice example of this mint. Choice Extremely Fine.
