Lot 2340

1851/81 N-3 R1 Blundered Date 51 over Inverted 18. AU-50. Sharpness closer to mint state but lightly cleaned and retoned frosty light greenish olive and tan with hints of very faded red in protected areas of the reverse. No spots or stains, but there are a few tiny contact marks scattered about both sides. E-MDS, die state a. The blundered date feature is bold. In addition, there are very shallow low spots (caused by debris stuck on the die) at the neck and in the field behind the neck, plus a few more inside the wreath. Otherwise both sides are sharply struck.
Estimated Value $250 - 350.
