Lot 1999

1787 Connecticut Miller 4-L Rarity-1 Horned Bust. VF-20. Sharpness near EF40 but there are a half dozen small pitmarks scattered over both sides, and most of these pits contain greenish verdigris. The notable pits are on the hair ribbon at the back of the neck and on the neck of the seated figure on the reverse. Otherwise the surfaces are a decent glossy chocolate and olive brown. Late die state with a fully developed "Horn" break up from the bust into the field off the chin. Nicely struck. The date is bold and the legends are complete although AUCTORI and INDE are tight to the rim.
Estimated Value $100 - 150.

Realized $138
