Lot 1993

1759 Spanish Pillar Dollar (8 Reales) Mexico Mint. EF-40. Frosty medium gray with electric blue toning around the perimeter on both sides. Probably lightly cleaned long ago, but there is no roughness or evidence of sea-salvage. Nicely centered on the planchet and well struck. An attractive example of this famous Spanish colonial issue that circulated extensively in the American colonies and set the standard for our silver dollar coinage.
Estimated Value $150 - 250.

Realized $207
