Byzantine Empire. Heraclius, 610-641 AD. Gold Solidus (4.49 g), Constantinople, struck c. 639-641 AD. Heraclius with mustache and long beard, flanked by sons Heraclius Constantine and Heraclonas; all crowned and standing frontal, and wearing chlamys and holding globus cruciger in right hand. Reverse: Cross potent on three steps; to left, hP monogram. Sear 769. Finely centered and perfectly struck -- with splendid detail and lots of luster. Mint State.
