Rome. Caligula, 37-41 AD. AR Denarius, Lugdunum mint, struck 37 AD. Bare head of Caligula right. Reverse: Radiate head of Augustus right, flanked by star on either side. RIC 2; BMCRE 4; RSC 11. Good style portraits, on flan of remarkably fine metal. Faintly toned. Also an AE As of Claudius, with reverse of Athena advancing right (Sear II 1861 or 1862). Good hole fillers for the budget-minded collector these days. Lot of 2 coins. Coins average Fine.
