Rome. Tiberius, 14-37 AD. Gold Aureus (7.51 g), Lugdunum mint, struck c. 15-18 AD. Laureate head right. Reverse: Livia (as Pax) seated right on chair, holding reverted spear and olive branch; ornate chair legs; chair on raised base. RIC I 27; BMCRE 39; cf. BN 18 (denarius); Calicó 305; Cohen 15. Evidence of mount hanger removed at 12:00 o'clock; flan a little wavey. Old scratches or graffiti on reverse. Nevertheless, with especially fine portrait. Fine plus.
