Greco-Bactrian Kingdom. Demetrios I, c. 200-185 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.82 g). Diademed and draped bust right, wearing elephant's skin headdress. Reverse: Herakles standing facing, crowning himself with right hand, holding club and lion's skin with left; KAP monogram at center-left. SNG ANS 188, 189. Excellently struck, on large generous flan. A few light scratches or marks in obverse field, otherwise fine metal and centering complimenting this most striking portrait. Choice! Choice Very Fine.
