Bactria, Pre-Seleucid. Sophytes, c. 305-294 BC. AR Drachm (3.39 g). Head of Athena right, wearing cested helmet decorated with palmettes and upright olive leaves. Reverse: Eagle standing left, head reverted; to right, caduceus above grape cluster. Cf. SNG ANS nos. 14-16; MIG type 26d. Attractive and well struck, on superior metal. Lightly toned in areas. A particularly choice example of this issue. Extremely Fine.
