Achaemenid Persia. Time of Darius I - Xerxes II, c. 485-420 BC. Gold Daric (8.32 g.). Persian king or hero in kneeling-running pose right, holding spear and bow. Reverse: Incuse punch. Carradice Type III-b, Group A/B (pl. XIII, 27); BMC Arabia pl. XXIV, 26; SNG Cop. 274. Crisply struck from fresh dies. Well-centered and lustrous. An especially fine coin! Extremely Fine.
