1861 Silver Three Cents. PCGS graded MS-67. A nice frosty white example. Lustrous fields ripple with original mint bloom. Against this are set nicely balanced, clear design elements. As we see it, when it comes to the centers of the shield as well as the outlines of the star, the strike is above-average, sharp, and well defined in all areas. On the reverse, as well, the simple C III design shows fully. There is a faint clash mark from the shield lines within the lower part of the Roman numeral. Superb Type 3 example.
