India. Guptas. Chandragupta II, c. 380-414 AD AU dinar (8.23g), 380 AD. Horseman type. Nimbate Chandragupta riding horse left. Reverse: The goddess Lakshmi, nimbate, seated left on stool, holding diadem and long-stemmed lotus flower; tamgha at left. BMC Guptas 124; MACW 4818. Of good style, boldly struck on ample flan. A bit brightly cleaned. Very Fine plus.
