Augsburg. Ducat, 1642. Fr-63; KM-75. 3.47 grams. 21.72 mm. Standing haloed St. Afra and pyre with city crest. Leg: .S.AFRA.PROTET - AVGVSTAE.VINDEL. Reverse: In the name of Ferdinand III, 1637-1657. Crowned double eagle with arms on breast. Below are "three omegas (horseshoes)". Leg: Crown FERDINAND: III.D:G.ROM.IMP.S.AVG.P.F.1642. NGC graded MS-62.

Augsburg was founded in 14 BC by Emperor Augustus of Rome. Hence, the name, "Augustae" on its coins. Augsburg ws a free city of the Holy Roman Empire with the mint right conferred upon it in 1521. The name of the Emperor, Ferdinand III, is therefore found within the legend.
