Lot 1760

1892-S $20 Liberty. PCGS graded MS-64. Nice even light golden toning on both sides. Few contact marks (and these barely noticeable) on the cheek and below Liberty's eye; quite choice for the grade. A collector on the hunt for a close-to-gem quality Liberty twenty can be stirred easily by this handsome 1892-S. The luster, bright and gurgling as though heaving up through a fissure in a volcano, seems to ripple the air with its brilliance. Since our observation is that this date is nearly always fully struck, then this sharp MS64 has every suggestion of precision manufacture as seen in the key devices, the stars, and all letters in the legends. Pop 65; 1 in 65, none finer at PCGS (PCGS # 9021) .
Estimated Value $8,000 - 9,000.

Realized $6,613
