1879-CC Morgan Dollar. NGC graded MS-64 Deep Prooflike. A nice white example. The '79-CC Morgan dollar is a low mintage date with only 756,000 pieces struck. When located, survivors tend to exhibit strong eye appeal, like this flashy piece. The fields have a bright prooflike resiliency while the devices are heavily frosted, giving the coin its two-tone or "cameo" effect noticeable in the photographs. Boldly struck throughout and gleaming white there is not one hint of toning around the rims, nor are there any heavy bagmarks or spots to affect your appreciation of it. A few slight field tics on the snowy white portrait barely intrude on the frosty complexion of the cheek; surely many viewing this coin would place it in the Gem category. Pop 11; 1 finer in 65 (PCGS # 7086) .
Estimated Value $16,000 - 18,000.
