Lot 1132

1802 Draped Bust Half Dollar. . O-101. PCGS graded AU-50 Rarity 3. Lovely blue toning around the edges. Some faint adjustment on the reverse. A highly presentable specimen of this scarce heraldic eagle date with intense blue iridescence around the outer margin and grand eye appeal. Clean surfaces double the beauty. Meanwhile, sharp devices everywhere serves to triple the desirability since this year is uncommon with a nice strike.

Boasting the lowest mintage of any heraldic eagle half dollar, just 29,980 pieces, the 1802 has long been a comparatively unheralded issue among early issues of the denomination and an extremely elusive date in AU and finer grades. Pop 5; 15 finer (PCGS # 6065) .
Estimated Value $15,000 - 16,000.
