Lot 1111

1932-D Washington Quarter Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64. A very choice satiny white example of this much-admired low-mintage issue. The Denver Mint, like much of the country in 1932 mired in a Great Depression, was instructed to mint the new Washington quarter dollars. But it only struck 436,800 pieces before the end of the year. In so doing, it inadvertantly created a rarity since few collectors thought to hold them aside for some reason (PCGS # 5791) .
Estimated Value $4,400 - 4,800.
