Handel Pine Needle Border Metal Overlay Table Lamp. Approximately 22" high. Shade is 18¼" in diameter. Original glass and patina. Shade is signed on the ring and on the metal tag on the inside of the shade. With Handel Chipped Ice Base, signed with a cloth label. Original patina, sockets, heatcap, finial and acorn pulls.

Philip Handel was best known for the art glass lamps that he produced in Meriden, Connecticut at the turn of the century. In Robert DeFalco's book, Metal Overlays by Handel, he states: "Handel conceived and produced lamps with the idea that the fixture itself was sculpture and its luminescence fine art. In the true Arts and Crafts spirit, Handel captured the essence of handcrrafted quality and realized the vision of the artist in every lamp."
