Penington, Isaac. The Way of Life & Death Made Manifest and Set Before Men. Held forth in good Will, both to Papists & Protestants," London, 1680. Large oversize leather bound edition, 11½" x 8" x 3" thick, 496 pages. Includes testimony by George Fox (founder of the Quakers) and by William Penn (founder of Pennsylvania). Normal age toning on edges, internally clean and bright text except for some inner page toning from paper inclusions and a small burn hole on page 211-212. Original boards with rebuilt spine showing gold remarques. Gold-stamped title is mistakenly labeled "The Testimony of George Fox Concerning Isaac Penington…London 1679" but this refers only to the first testimony in the book. Rare, early and important Quaker work.
