(Republic of Hawaii) Sanford Dole As President. Honolulu Land Patent No. 3726 Grant Signed by Sanford B. Dole as President of the Republic of Hawaii and by J.A. King as Minister of the Interior, 3 pp, 16" x 10½", 20 Nov. 1894. With the seal of the Relpublic of Hawaii and a map of the land grant. Very good; a few scattered holes to paper and overall toning. A transaction with Mrs. Elise S.V. Neumann relative to land in Manoa Valley, Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii.

Sanford Dole (1884-1926) held positions in all three branches of the Hawaiian government under the Monarchy, Provisional Government, Republic and Territory, including being President of the Republic and first Governor of the Territory of Hawaii. He is especially known for securing the constitution of 1887 and the overthrow of Queen Lilliuokalani of the Hawaiian Islands. James A. King was a pioneer inter-island shipping magnate who was appointed by Dole as Minister of the Interior in the Provisional Government and in the Republic of Hawaii. He was father of Governor Samuel Wilder King and grandfather of Federal Judge Samuel P. King.
