1915-S $20 St. Gaudens. NGC graded MS-64. A satiny bright double eagle struck in a stressful economic climate as European governments were ensnared in an all-out war. The U.S. government was the only major power that remained on a Gold Standard throughout World War I (1914-17), although $20 gold pieces weren't minted in 1917-20. The 1915-S has always been a favorite with collectors since it is reasonably priced, and nearly always comes with glowing luster in the Uncirculated grades. A very choice example for the collector.
Estimated Value $700 - 800.

Realized $978
