Lot 162

1802/0 Draped Bust Half Cent. Reverse of 1800. . C-1, R6. NGC graded Fair-2. The reverse is slightly sharper while the reverse is weaker, the Fair-2 grade an average of the two sides. The 180 are easily readable while the 2/0 is faint. The portrait and LIBERTY are complete although not strong. The reverse is mostly worn smooth, but the lower half shows ample detail to be certain of the attribution. Slightly glossy dark olive and steel brown with extremely fine granularity under the patina. No verdigris or significant marks. EAC grade consistent with the slab grade. Admittedly a low grade half cent, but still an identifyable example of one of the great rarities in the half cent series. The attribution is noted on the NGC label.
Estimated Value $5,000 - 10,000.

Realized $6,038
