Ivory & Gilt Bronze Statuette of Peasant Girl. France or Belgium, early 20th century. The young woman stands leaning into inclement weather, her shawl and dress wind swept. The figure has come loose from its base, which is mounted on olive-black Belgian marble. The artist's signature is "Schmidt-Telling." Wear is seen to areas of the gilding, but the ivory is finely preserved. Height of figure alone: 7-1/8".
