Screen-Used Prop Bolt-Action Rifle From "The Wild Bunch". From the 1969 western directed by Sam Peckinpah and starring William Holden, Ernest Borgnine, Robert Ryan., and others. The rifle was issued by the prop department to the set of "The Wild Bunch" for use by the Mexican army cast members. The rifle was acquired from the set, then sold at auction by Ellis Props, the oldest prop house in Hollywood. The movie was ground breaking in its use of graphic violence. It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Music, Original Score for a Motion Picture (not a Musical) and Best Writing, Story and Screenplay Based on Material Not Previously Published or Produced.
