Outstanding Marine Corps Officer's Dress Sword. By Hilborn Hamburger, New York, ca. 1950s-60s. Overall length 39 1/2", the 31 3/4" blade with handsome etched design and engraved naming "C.C. Playford USMCR" and also edge marked "Germany" and "USMC Serial No. 323". The hilt is heavily gold plated with bakelite or plastic grip. The highly polished silver colored scabbard with gilt fittings also marked "Germany". A superb sword in very choice condition.
