Imperial Austria Officer or Civil Official Dress Sword. Late 19th century to World War I period. Overall length 35" with the etched and decorated nickel plated 29" blade marked "Weyersberg & Stamm Solingen." The floral decorated guard and backstrap, the former with a crowned Austrian eagle coat-of-arms, are heavy brass and the grip with fine bluish-gray wire wrapped fish skin. The worn scabbard is black leather with decorated brass fittings, including the crowned monogram of Emperor Franz Joseph, and tip protector. The leather on the inside (not seen as worn or displayed) is dried and seperated along the stitching, and a small nick on the front leather. Excellent condition except as noted and scarce.
