1891, $2 Silver Certificate. . Fr-246. . KL-127. PCGS Choice New 63. A couple of light corner tip folds outside the design prevent a gem grade. Vivid colors and crisp fresh paper for the collector to admire. This note features William Windom, a local politician of the day who gave great service to several administrations. When he died in 1890, his portrait was quickly put on this $2 silver certificate series note (even though he was a "hard money" backer, preferring a gold standard to "free silver"). Scarce.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,500.
