1899, $5 Silver Certificate. . Fr-281. . KL-251. One of the very desirable, high-grade Indian Chiefs that we're always happy to offer bidders. This fresh note, with its balanced margins, easily viewable original black and blue embossing and the coveted 66 designation, should receive multiple strong bids.

The head on this note is of To-to-ka-in-yan-ka, also known as Running Antelope, a member of the Oncpapa tribe of Sioux Indians. George F. C. Smillie engraved the portrait. This is the only issue of U.S. paper money for which a Native American was selected as the subject. Gem Crisp Uncirculated 66.
