Lot 3925

1876-CC $10 Liberty. PCGS graded AU-53. Mostly untoned. Low mintage of 4,696. The surfaces are slightly reflective. Pop 3; 2 in 55; 3 in 58. A lustrous example, filled to the rims with gold color and plenty of luster that rises and falls in an almost rhythmic display. Struck with not quite the preciseness of the P-mint product this year, there is the normal softness found at the centers, particularly on the hair below the coronet. Contrasting this, however, is a sharply made reverse whose motto and ribbon is finely detailed, along with full feathers and nearly full claws on the eagle. A coin whose original surfaces separate it from the throng of lesser contenders for your collecting dollars (PCGS # 8675) .
Estimated Value $18,000 - 21,000.

Realized $20,125
