Pontic Kingdom. Mithradates VI 120-63 BC. Gold Stater (8.27 g), of First Mithradatic War, Callatis mint. Lysimachos type: Diademed head of deified Alexander the Great right. Reverse: Athena Nikephoros enthroned left; KAΛ on throne, HPO beneath arm, trident in exergue. Pick, AMNG 258. Usual eroded/rusty obverse die, but overall very crisp, with reverse unusually nice. A striking example. Very lustrous. Good Extremely Fine.
