Pontic Kingdom. Mithradates VI 120-63 BC. Gold Stater (8.28 g), of First Mithradatic War, Tomis mint. Lysimachos type: Diademed head of deified Alexander the Great right. Reverse: Athena Nikephoros enthroned left; TO on throne, ΘEM beneath arm, trident in exergue. Pick, AMNG, 2484. Usual rusty or lightly eroded obverse die. Bold strike, but still a touch weak at the highest details. Essentially as struck -- very lustrous. Extremely Fine.
