1781 Libertas Americana Bronze Medal by Dupre. (48. mm). Betts-615. The famous obverse deisgn with the July 4, 1776 date, is believed to be the prototype for our own "Liberty Cap" copper coins, first produced in our own Mint in 1793. Reverse: "Non Sine Diis Animosus Infans" 17/19 Oct. 1777/1781. Glossy medium chocolate brown, Extremely fine.
