Great Britain. Pattern Florin, 1848. ESC-886. Victoria. This pleasing specimen, richly toned in shades of green, blue and gold, can lay claim to being the very first English silver florin. Virtually identical to the (milled edge) currency issue which first appeared in 1849, this earlier coin has a plain edge. NGC graded Proof 63.
