Lot 1748

1821 Capped Bust Quarter Dollar. PCGS graded MS-63. Lovely blue and gold toning. Among the more poorly defined issues in the series as a rule, this scintillating large size Bust quarter dollar example breaks that trend and displays uncommon sharpness on all but the highest curls of the forehead. Even the normal softness on the eagle is nearly absent. Both sides are graced with "spotlight" toning whose central region is left pretty much silvery bright as though it were stored in an old Wayte Raymond-style coin album lo these many years. Pop 11; 22 finer. (PCGS # 5331) .
Estimated Value $3,800 - 4,200.

Realized $7,475
