Cruikshank, Robert. Seven 19th Century Handcolored Caricatures of Life in London. 5¾x8¼ engravings illustratrating the adventures of Corinthian Tom, Jerry Hawthorn, and Bob Logic, characters in Pierce Egan's Life in London; or, The Day and Night Scenes of Jerry Hawthorn, Esq. and his elegant friend Corinthian Tom, accompanied by Bob Logic, The Oxonian, in their Rambles and Sprees through the Metropolis, issued in shilling numbers from July 1821. These were very popular as the English public felt that it could identify the originals of the characters involved. All seven are attractively matted and framed, five to 13½x16" and two to 10¼x13¼". Fine condition and ready for display. Robert Cruikshank and his brother George were well-known political caricaturists.
