15th Century Vellum Manuscript. Two pages from a French missal, 9¼x6½", written on vellum in liturgical black letters and gracefully decorated with alternating red and blue penwork initials whose flourishes extend deep into the margin. The four-line staves are drawn in red, on which the black square notes are placed. Fine; normal age toning. Missals rested on the altar during mass.
