O'Keefe, Georgia (1887-1986) Autograph Letter Signed, 1 p., 11x8½", Albiquiu, New Mexico 12 Jan. (19)69. Fine. To Fred Maxwell, in response to some questions about one of her paintings: "Oak Leaves - Pink and Grey." In part: "…I have a record of the painting but no photograph. I laugh when I see it because the leaves are not oak leaves at all. I probably did not put the title on this picture myself….I think you have it upside down. I think the darker part is the top--but it doesn't really matter. When I frame a painting I try to make it look as if it has no frame…".
