1942 New York Times Ad: "Jews Fight For The Right To Fight". Less than a month after Pearl Harbor, this 22½x16½" ad appeared, placed by the "Committee For A Jewish Army," stating "The Jews of Palestine and the stateless Jews of the world do not only want to pray--They Want To Fight!!!!" The aim of the Committee is "the formation of a Jewish Army, based on Palestine, to fight for the survival of the Jewish people and the preservation of democracy…." Fine.
