Emory, William Hensley (1811-87) Union General; led the 19th Corps & Dept. of the West. Autograph Letter Signed "W. H. Emory,"as Major General USV, 3pp, 8x5", Cumberland, MD, 23 Oct. 1865. Fine except for minor discoloration at lower edge. To U.S. Senator A.J. Creswell, asking him to call General Grant's "attention to my claims to be appointed a Brevet Major General in the Regular…." Good content.
