Philadelphia Autograph Book: 1790s to 1840s. A curious autograph collector's book with over 850 cut signatures laid to the 12x7½" pages, the earliest being "Theo. Duckett 8th April 1793"; a large number are from around 1811 to 1820, with the balance in the 1830s and 1840s. Some have the signer's occupation--such as bricklayer, farmer, druggist, judge, school teacher, doctor, etc.--all areas seem to be represented. Also includes some facsimile pages. Original covers are detached and the binding is broken. A composite of early 19th century Philadelphia society.
