(Besallion, Peter). A rare receipt for various skins and furs "Bought of Peter Bezaillion," dated 23 May 1700, 7x9¼". Very good; uneven toning but clearly legible. The itemized list includes skins and furs from minks, foxes, otters, elks, beavers and wolves. The total charge was 66 pounds, 16 shillings and 6 pence. Besallion was an important Indian trader and translator who lived north of Philadelphia along the Susquehanna River.
